This is one of our unique services. The final decision to update the interface does; however, reside with the client.
1. Your Drupal Content Management System (CMS) Needs an Upgrade
As you probably already know, technology moves very quickly and very fast these days. For example, if you have an iPhone, you probably need to update your iOS almost every month. Have you updated your computer’s operating system to Windows 10 yet? Ninety-nine (99%) percent of our clients are using the latest Drupal Content Management System (CMS) 7.41. If you are still using Drupal 6.0, your website is out-of-date. Having an older version of CMS can hurt your credibility and make your website look less than professional besides the fact that it is also vulnerable security wise since the core and the modules cannot be updated.
The key is to have your site redesigned to look more modern and technically advanced. There are new modules and functionalities being introduced all the time, so getting the most updated features will set you apart from your competitors. In addition, updating your Drupal content management system will help you to avoid being the victim of hacking and other security breaches. Drupal developers are frequently finding ways to keep your site secure.
2. Your Website Needs a New Look
Trust me; it is very bad when you show your potential customer an old, outdated website. It will hurt you big time! Changing the interface for your website at least once every a couple or three years is a very good idea to attract new business. Remember, your website has to grab internet user’s attention in the first three seconds in order to beat your competitors. Otherwise, you will loss potential business.
Also, the search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo are very strict when it comes to delivering only the best content for web users. Those search engines always look for fresh new content - updated web page writings, keywords, articles, blogs, videos, new images and clean website design. If your site is lacking in any of these features, you can be guaranteed that your website will be ranked/indexed lower on the search engines. A professional looking website is the key to keeping your current customers engaged and, more importantly, attracting more new customers as well.
3. Make Sure Your Website is User Friendly
If you are a customer and you are browsing a site, and after numerous clicks, you still cannot find the information you are looking for – what are you going to do? You will probably simply leave the website in search of a better website that provides you with the information you are looking for. A good website has to user friendly! Make sure your website has the following elements: a professional designed interface, web content that that is clear and easy to understand, an intuitive and easy to use navigation and functionality.
When we say that the content should be easy to understand, it means that you should assume that anyone can understand what is your website does and what kind services they can get from you. For instance, make your contact information should be easy to find. Having your contact information in the header or footer or in another very noticeable place on your website will make is easy and simpler for your readers to get in touch with you. If you sell products online, make sure your customers have options to create an account in order to check out or check out as a guest. Never make the shopping cart difficult for your customer to change their orders from within the cart. Having a user friendly website is a very important element especially for e-commerce sites.
4. Company Name Change and/or Ownership
If your company is changing its name or owner, or maybe expanding to more locations, you will need a new website or updated web content and perhaps new logos that reflects these changes. New changes in the business mean new changes to your site's image. In most cases, you need to change the interface in order to reflect your new image.
Revamping a website is a necessary business strategy these days; however, a lot of people do not want to spend more money to do this. Some people when revamping their site simply change a little of the content but leave the site virtually unchanged. Your clients and visitors will be confused by this. Remember, when you announce a major change, your website is the first place that your customers will look for confirmation.
5. Some Functions and Links on Your Site are Not Working
If your customers navigate to your sites and get error messages or broken links, it can be a real turnoff. Many business owners automatically think that their customers are so loyal that they will put up with poorly designed and maintained websites. This is often not the case. Customers will simply find a better updated site with which to do business.
